
MINSK, 2 October (BelTA) – Myanmar is eager to actively develop contacts with Belarus in education, tourism, and banking, Myanmar’s Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Wah Wah Maung told journalists following the second meeting of the joint Belarus-Myanmar committee on trade and economic cooperation, BelTA has learned.
“At the meeting of the joint committee we discussed cooperation in education. We are willing to work with Belarusian universities and organize exchanges between them, including academic staff,” the minister said.
“We also intend to implement agreements on tourism cooperation and would like to invite Belarusian tourists to visit Myanmar. We have beautiful beaches and many other attractions to offer. The possibility of direct flights between Myanmar and Belarus was also explored," Wah Wah Maung added.
According to her, the parties agreed on cooperation in the banking and financial sectors, as well as between business circles, including between the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and their Myanmar counterparts. Wah Wah Maung also spoke about the approval of a cooperation roadmap on joint projects between the two countries.
