MOSCOW, 25 November (BelTA) - The level of foreign policy coordination between Moscow and Minsk is unprecedented, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said during a joint board meeting of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Russian Foreign Ministry in Moscow on 25 November, BelTA has learned.

“Our work in this format, and this format exists only with our Belarusian friends, speaks to an unprecedentedly high level of foreign policy coordination between Moscow and Minsk. The annual meetings in this configuration have proven to be an effective mechanism for developing common approaches to key international issues and, of course, for synchronizing our efforts on the world stage,” Sergey Lavrov said.

He also stated that Russia expresses its appreciation to its Belarusian allies for their support. “First of all, I would like to express gratitude to our Belarusian allies for their unwavering attention and support in all our common endeavors,” he added.

Sergey Lavrov emphasized that Moscow and Minsk, guided by the foreign policy program of the Union State, are cooperating intensively within common Eurasian associations, such as the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), as well as BRICS, the United Nations (UN), and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

“Within all these structures, we present a united front on virtually all international issues. We are implementing important joint initiatives, including those aimed at strengthening security and stability in Eurasia,” the Russian foreign minister said.

“Together, we have promoted the initiative of Aleksandr Grigoryevich Lukashenko on developing a Eurasian Charter for Diversity and a Multipolar World in the 21st Century across all international platforms. It aligns with the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin on forming a new architecture of equal and indivisible security in Eurasia. We actively helped ensure the success of the third Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security this past October. And we note with satisfaction the growing number of countries that share our approaches and are ready to join this relevant work,” Sergey Lavrov stressed.
