Indonesia described as one of Belarus’ leading partners in Asia

MINSK, 19 August (BelTA) – Indonesia is one of Belarus’ leading partners in Asia. Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Vadim Ipatov made the statement as he met with a delegation of Indonesian parliamentarians led by Isfhan Taufik Munggaran, chairman of the group on bilateral cooperation between the People’s Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia and the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, BelTA has learned.

Vadim Ipatov said: “Indonesia is one of the leading partners of the Republic of Belarus in the sphere of economy in Asia. We are convinced that our countries can reach a new level of investment cooperation. We invite the Indonesian business community to look for promising ways of developing trade with Eurasian region countries while using capabilities of the infrastructure of the [China-Belarus] industrial park Great Stone. Judging by last year’s results Indonesia has become the third strategic market for Belarusian potassium chloride. Considerable shipments of Belarusian potash fertilizers are essential for ensuring the food security of your country. We can also supply more fertilizers.”
Belarusian enterprises are ready to increase deliveries of a broad range of world-quality products to Indonesia: haul trucks, tractors, other agricultural machines, security devices, medical equipment, the vice speaker noted. “We know that Indonesia needs our machines and vehicles. For instance, the Belarusian company BelAZ accounts for 30% of the world market of haul trucks with an extremely large carrying capacity. Minsk Tractor Works is one of the world’s top eight manufacturers of agricultural machines,” he stressed.

“The expansion of Indonesian diplomatic presence in Belarus would contribute to the advancement of cooperation across the board to a significant degree. We expect that the plans to open the embassy or a branch of the Indonesian embassy in Belarus would be implemented soon. We will welcome the assistance of parliamentarians with making a positive decision on the matter,” Vadim Ipatov added. “I am convinced that we will continue working together while relying on traditions of friendship and mutual understanding. Our task is to continue exploring the massive and truly inexhaustible potential of the bilateral ties for the benefit of our countries and nations.”
