Foreign ministers of Belarus, Kyrgyzstan discuss cooperation in SCO, economic ties

MINSK, 9 December (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov has talked to Kyrgyz Minister of Foreign Affairs Zheenbek Kulubaev over the phone upon the initiative of the Kyrgyz side, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The conversation focused on matters concerning the advancement of Belarus-Kyrgyzstan cooperation. Mutual interest was stressed in further reinforcement of political interaction, in the expansion of trade and economic ties, and in assistance with filling the bilateral agenda with practical steps.

Close attention was paid to interaction in the multilateral format, including within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The ministers confirmed the importance of concerted efforts for the sake of enhancing regional stability, increasing the efficiency of mechanisms of collective cooperation and promotion of constructive initiatives that meet interests of all the participating states.

The Kyrgyz minister of foreign affairs informed his Belarusian counterpart about priorities of Kyrgyzstan’s chairmanship in the Council of Heads of SCO Member States in 2025-2026.
