
MINSK, 16 August (BelTA) - European Union countries stand ready to maintain and intensify pressure on Russia through sanctions, a joint statement by the heads of the European Commission and European Council, along with leaders of Germany, France, Italy, Poland, Finland and non-EU member UK reads, TASS reports.
“As long as the killing in Ukraine continues, we stand ready to uphold the pressure on Russia. We will continue to strengthen sanctions and wider economic measures to put pressure on Russia's war economy until there is a just and lasting peace,” the statement reads.
