MINSK, 25 October (BelTA) – The CIS observation mission at the presidential election in Uzbekistan gave the outcome press conference in Tashkent on 25 October, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.
"The mission of observers from the Commonwealth of Independent States have made the conclusion that the election on 24 October was held in full compliance with the Constitution and the Electoral Code of Uzbekistan, was competitive, free, open and transparent, and met the generally recognized principles of democratic elections," the head of the mission Sergei Lebedev said.
The presidential election was held in Uzbekistan on 24 October. There were 9,925 polling stations in the country, about 19.9 million people on the voter lists. More than 1,000 international observers monitored the electoral process.
