MINSK, 27 March (BelTA) – Another round of Belarus-Uzbekistan ministerial consultations took place in Tashkent on 25 March, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The delegations were led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Pavel Utyupin and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bobur Usmanov.
The parties discussed the entire spectrum of the bilateral agenda and thrashed out cooperation plans. The diplomats said they were satisfied with the state of bilateral dialogue and confirmed their intention to keep it up through the foreign ministries. They also discussed preparations for joint events.
The head of the Belarusian delegation also met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov. The diplomats discussed the bilateral agenda and a schedule of visits at the highest and high levels.
Pavel Utyupin visited the Victory Park Memorial Complex. The Belarusian diplomat laid flowers at the Ode to Fortitude monument and saw the exposition of the Museum of Glory.
The Victory Park opened in Tashkent on 9 May 2020 in the run-up to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The concept of the park was developed on the instructions of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The total area of the complex is 14.6 hectares. It is divided into 12 themed zones, including the central alley, the military equipment area, the amphitheater, the Station, the Horrors of War, the Front Line, the mourning and memorial zone, the Joy, the Victory, the Museum of Glory and the Gratitude Square.
The Ode to Fortitude monument was erected in memory of Zulfiya Zakirova, an Uzbek woman who lost five sons during the war, as well as to all the women whose husbands and children died at the front.
