Belarus, Ukraine sign agreement on readmission

GOMEL, 26 October (BelTA) – Belarus and Ukraine have signed an agreement on readmission. The ceremony to sign the document took place at the 1st Forum of Regions of Belarus and Ukraine on 26 October, BelTA has learned.

The agreement was signed by Belarus' Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Shunevich and Head of the State Migration Service of Ukraine Maksym Sokoliuk.

As part of the forum, Belarus and Ukraine also signed a bilateral agreement on cooperation in physical education and sport, and a plan of consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs.

The signing of documents was timed to the working visit of Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko to Belarus.

Contracts and cooperation agreements were signed between the regions of the two countries. The Brest Oblast Executive Committee concluded an agreement on interregional cooperation with the Rovno Regional State Administration and an agreement on cooperation in trade, economy, science and culture with the Zaporozhye Regional State Administration. Zaporozhye will also cooperate with Mogilev Oblast.

Minsk inked an agreement with the Zaporozhye Regional State Administration and a memorandum with the Kiev Oblast Administration. Gomel and Dnepr sealed an agreement on friendship and cooperation.
