
MOSCOW, 15 May (BelTA) - Cooperation between Belarus and Russia in the field of human rights was discussed at a meeting between Head of Multilateral Diplomacy at the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Irina Velichko and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin in Moscow, BelTA learned from the Russian Foreign Ministry.
"The parties touched upon a wide range of topical issues on the international agenda. The parties discussed in detail ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the UN and OSCE human rights bodies," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
"The parties reaffirmed their commitment to continuing close cooperation on international environmental and climate issues, interaction within the framework of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, in nominating candidates to UN bodies of limited membership," the Russian Foreign Ministry noted.
