Belarus, Iran eager to step up interaction in transportation by road

MINSK, 31 December (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Iran Dmitry Koltsov met with Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Head of the Road Management and Road Transport Organization Reza Akbari the other day, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Dmitry Koltsov and Reza Akbari discussed topical matters concerning interaction in transportation by road. They underlined the importance of further intensification of cooperation between the relevant ministries of Belarus and Iran.

Belarus and Iran established diplomatic relations on 18 March 1993. The Belarusian embassy in Tehran was opened on 8 March 1998 while the Embassy of Iran has been working in Minsk since February 2001. The countries maintain a high level of political contacts and advance economic interaction.
