MINSK, 16 February (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Azerbaijan Andrei Ravkov presented his credentials to Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev on 16 February, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Baku.
During the conversation that followed the ceremony, the Azerbaijani leader welcomed the high level of friendly relations and mutual understanding between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Azerbaijan, and pointed to the significant cooperation potential between the two countries.
In turn, the head of the Belarusian diplomatic mission emphasized that it is important to expand comprehensive cooperation focusing on trade and economy. In this context, the ambassador said that Belarus would like to participate in projects to restore infrastructure and other facilities on the territory of Azerbaijan, as well as to intensify the dialogue at the highest level.
The parties agreed that Belarus and Azerbaijan would greatly benefit from closer cooperation in such areas as manufacturing, agriculture, defense industry, and joint penetration of the markets of third countries.
The parties also discussed other topical issues of mutual interest.
