Aleinik holds several meetings at 150th IPU Assembly

MINSK, 8 April (BelTA) – Chairman of the Standing Commission on International Affairs and National Security of the Council of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Aleinik held a number of meetings on the margins of the the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian upper house of parliament.

During the meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Palestinian National Council Musa Hadid, the parties discussed the development of Belarusian-Palestinian inter-parliamentary cooperation. Sergei Aleinik reaffirmed Belarus' commitment to supporting the resolution of the Middle East conflict.

Sergei Aleinik also met with America Valentina Perez Davila, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. The meeting focused on fostering bilateral social, economic and humanitarian relations and expanding the legal framework for cooperation. The parties agreed that inter-parliamentary cooperation will further strengthen Belarusian-Venezuelan relations. Perez Davila suggested enhancing cooperation at the level of youth parliaments.

During the meeting with Sergei Aleinik, Speaker of the House of Federation of Ethiopia Agegnehu Teshager expressed interest in Belarusian technologies in agriculture, processing, and mechanical engineering for the agricultural sector.

During talks with parliamentarians from Equatorial Guinea, it was highlighted that Africa is developing dynamically and has a strong interest in Belarusian technologies. Earlier, leaders of both countries identified key areas to enhance cooperation.

The work on deepening bilateral cooperation with Uzbekistan also continued. Parliamentarians attended the UzFood exhibition, one of the most significant events in Uzbekistan's food industry. The exhibition featured displays from 400 participants representing 30 countries, including 16 Belarusian enterprises.
