A commemorative rally in the 5th
Regiment memorial complex in Vitebsk gathered juvenile prisoners of
concentration camps, representatives of regional and city authorities, law
enforcement agencies, public associations, young people. They came to honor the
memory of the victims of fascism, who died in concentration camps on the
International Day of Liberation of Prisoners of Fascist Camps. In Vitebsk
Oblast Nazis set up dozens of places of forced detention and extermination of
people - camps for prisoners of war and civilians, ghettos, prisons, where more
than 150,000 Soviet citizens died.
