The Race of the First track and field event was held in Brest on 31 May. The race debuted last year and was dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Brest Oblast. This year it was timed to the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. Among the most popular challenges was the family race. The event drew huge interest with more people applying than the spots available. The event was organized by the Brest Oblast Executive Committee and the Belarusian Athletics Federation.
