On 29 July, the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War History unveiled a temporary exhibition "Museum Rarities", commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. One of the exhibition's highlights is a shrapnel-pierced photographic portrait of Guards Lieutenant Colonel Vladimir Dibrov, the deputy commander for political affairs of the 31st Guards Rifle Division. He participated in both the defense and liberation of Belarus. During one battle, Vladimir Dibrov narrowly avoided a chest wound thanks to his Order of the Red Star. The photograph, taken on the Western Front in 1943, which he carried in his tunic pocket along with the medal, was struck by shrapnel.
