The greenhouse complex of the National Forest Breeding and Seed Center cultivates planting material for the main forest species. The seedlings are handed over to forestries for carrying out reforestation activities after logging, windfalls, and other forest damage. The center cultivates nearly 11 million plants and stores over 12 tonnes of seeds from various forest species. The seeds are sourced from specialized forest plantations where cones are collected from “specimen trees”.
