MOSCOW, 11 December (BelTA - TV BRICS) - BRICS partner states are developing information exchange and establishing mutual communications through TV BRICS. One of the largest state media holdings in the CIS - the National State Television and Radio Company of the Republic of Belarus (Belteleradiocompany) - has joined international cooperation. The corresponding agreement was signed by the head of the Belarusian media, Ivan Eismont, and the CEO of TV BRICS, Janna Tolstikova.

The partners agreed to cooperate in order to strengthen humanitarian and business ties between countries, enhance state prestige at the international level, develop a unified BRICS information space, and exchange professional experience.

"On 11 November 2024, Belarus officially became a BRICS partner country - a group that unites the most rapidly developing states, forming a new centre of power. This is the part of the world where relations between states are based on justice and mutual respect. These are the values shared by the Republic of Belarus. Therefore, for Belteleradiocompany and, I am convinced, for our viewers, everything related to this organisation and the countries within it is of considerable interest. Our most important task is to conduct open information exchange so that as many people as possible know the truth about what is happening in the modern world", the head of Belteleradiocompany, Ivan Eismont, said.

Belteleradiocompany is the largest state media holding in the Republic of Belarus. It includes eight television channels, including the country’s main news channel, “First Informational”; five regional television and radio companies; five radio stations; the news portal News.by; and the specialised sports website sport5.by. Belteleradiocompany has extensive experience in hosting international song festivals and national television competitions.

CEO of TV BRICS, Janna Tolstikova, noted that full-scale cooperation with Belteleradiocompany will make it possible to enrich the unified BRICS information space with high-quality and reliable materials about the cultural richness and trade, economic and business prospects of the Republic of Belarus.

"More than 100 of the largest media structures from over 30 countries worldwide exchange information through TV BRICS in order to shape a unified cultural, economic and business agenda of BRICS on a daily basis. Our cooperation, which we refer to as media diplomacy, is founded on the principles of mutual respect, equality and openness, which help to develop intergovernmental dialogue and strengthen humanitarian and economic ties. The accession of Belteleradiocompany to our mission will make it possible to broadcast the priorities of Belarus’ socio-political development abroad and to enhance the republic’s international standing", the CEO of TV BRICS, Janna Tolstikova said.

Earlier, TV BRICS launched an information exchange with the Belarusian Telegraph Agency (BelTA).

Among BRICS members and partner states, the media network also cooperates with Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, the UAE, Ethiopia, Iran, Indonesia, Egypt, Bolivia, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Cuba, Malaysia, Nigeria, and Thailand.
