MINSK, 6 November (BelTA) - Beaver Moon refers to the supermoon that occurs specifically in November. The Moon enters its full moon phase while also being closer to Earth, making it appear brighter and larger than usual. Beaver Moon takes its name from early Native American tribes when beavers begin sheltering in their lodges after gathering enough food to last the winter. Another possible reason is related to hunting these animals, which was made easier by the bright moonlight. Beavers are primarily active during the nighttime.
