MINSK, 30 October (BelTA) – The exports of Belarusian engineering products to African countries are increasing, Belarus’ Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich said during a joint session of the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic, BelTA has learned.
He stressed that under current conditions the key task is to improve the efficiency of the manufacturing industry and ensure its balanced growth. In order to achieve this goal, several areas of activity have been identified and systematic work has been organized for each one. One of these areas is the development of export supplies.
“Work has been organized to maximize the potential of CIS countries. By the end of the year, it is planned to increase the momentum of export supplies to CIS countries through the implementation of new contracts for the delivery of agricultural and freight machinery produced by MTZ, Gomselmash, and MAZ to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan. We are also continuing to expand our presence in more distant markets. Good results are being achieved through the implementation of action programs for the development of cooperation between Belarus and African and Latin American countries for 2024-2026. Thus, deliveries to Africa have been growing for the second year in a row. Exports of engineering products to the continent increased by 6.6%, with tractor shipments rising 11.3 times and truck shipments 4.7 times. Deliveries to Central and South America increased 1.5 times, and to Southeast Asia 1.6 times,” Viktor Karankevich emphasized.

Belarus also continues to develop multi-brand centers in Russia. This year, such centers were opened in Ryazan Oblast and Oryol Oblast, in Bashkortostan, and in Primorsky Territory. By the end of the current year, two more centers are planned to open in Krasnodar Territory and Rostov Oblast. In total, by year’s end, 11 multi-brand centers will be operating in Russia.

In order to build long-term cooperation, joint assembly plants are being established. This year, tractor assembly plants were opened in Uzbekistan and elevator equipment assembly facilities in Azerbaijan. Work is underway to set up assembly production in Algeria, Mongolia, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Iran.
