SAINT PETERSBURG, 22 December (BelTA) – The joint development of the Trans-Afghan Corridor could ensure direct access for EAEU countries to the markets of South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said during an expanded meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, BelTA has learned.
“Direct access for our countries to the markets of South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa could be ensured by the joint development of the Trans-Afghan Corridor. In this regard, the capacity of the Russia-Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan railway route should be expanded. Financial support from the Eurasian Development Bank would significantly accelerate this process,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
