Tajikistan eyeing Belarus' machinery for processing industry

MINSK, 21 May (BelTA) – Tajikistan is interested in acquiring Belarusian machinery and technologies for its processing industry, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan Said Sharif said in an interview with the STV Channel, BelTA has learnt.

“We would eagerly buy machinery and technologies to process raw materials produced in Tajikistan. Tajikistan is member of the World Trade Organization, which means that we have access to the global market. Belarus' machinery and technologies are up to date and allow manufacturing world-class products,” Said Sharif said.

He noted that Belarus and Tajikistan should take advantage of all resources and opportunities to expand cooperation. “We are interested in closer cooperation in hydroelectricity, mining industry, mechanical engineering, light industry, food processing industry, healthcare, in particular, in pharmaceutics. Other areas of interest include construction, telecommunications, education, crafts, tourism and banking,” Said Sharif said.
