“Together, we are creating conditions to improve the quality of life for our citizens and strengthen national economies for the implementation of major joint projects in various areas. We are concluding this year with a worthy preliminary result in key indicators such as the union’s gross domestic product, industrial production, agriculture, construction, and retail trade. I would particularly like to note the significant growth of business activity in our countries. Investments in fixed capital across the Eurasian Economic Union as a whole increased by over 6% in the first half of the year. We support the business community’s desire to work together, especially when it comes to launching high-tech enterprises,” Mikhail Mishustin said.
He recalled that interest rates on loans for industrial projects involving companies from at least three member states are subsidized from the EAEU budget. The funds can be used for launching joint productions and modernizing capacities. “I would like to take this opportunity to invite businesses from our countries to use such opportunities,” he urged, adding that a decision had been made to extend this mechanism to the agro-industrial complex.
“Earlier this year, an agreement was signed that enables enterprises of the member states to trade their securities on the exchanges of all five countries. In August, a program for the development of exchange trading was approved. There are already concrete results. The use of national currencies has reached 93% for settlements within the EAEU and has surpassed 98% in foreign trade contracts between Russian companies and entrepreneurs from the other four EAEU states,” the Russian prime minister said.
“We continue to strengthen transport connectivity in the Eurasian region. Here, it is extremely important to accelerate the implementation of modern solutions, primarily for modernizing logistics infrastructure and digitalizing transport corridors. This will increase the capacity of existing routes and, consequently, boost freight volumes. This is also needed to expand trade with states outside the EAEU, especially since their interest in our cooperation is constantly growing,” he noted.
“The practical implementation of the free trade agreement with Iran has begun, with agreements also signed with the United Arab Emirates and Mongolia. In late November, the first round of negotiations with India took place. It is important not to slow down the pace of forming new sustainable supply chains, promoting EAEU goods on external markets, and enhancing the competitiveness of national economies,” Mikhail Mishustin emphasized.
