MINSK, 24 June (BelTA) – The Belarusian economy is feeling quite confident now, Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko told the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.

“In my report I have told the president that we are not only fulfilling but even over-fulfilling almost all targets. But most importantly, we should not rest on our laurels, but anticipate all trends. Therefore, the task is to make sure that there will be no setback at the end of the year. The first half of the year is drawing to a close. I’m sure that we will finish it well,” said Roman Golovchenko.
According to him, the most important thing now is to double down on harvesting while the weather is good. “We should also maintain momentum in all other areas, in this case our annualized performance will be quite good,” he added.

The prime minister also noted that he looks at the achieved results critically. He believes that planning should be based on worst-case scenarios, so as to avoid complacency. “That’s why I always take a critical approach to assessing our performance. But the president has even tougher requirements, so he always keeps us on our toes,” he noted.
