Over $15bn earned by EAEU budgets as revenues from import customs duties in 2024

MINSK, 26 November (BelTA) – In 2024 the state budgets of the Eurasian Economic Union countries earned $15.3 billion as revenues from import customs duties, the press service of the State Customs Committee of Belarus told BelTA.

On 26 November participants of a joint session of the boards of the supreme oversight agencies of the EAEU states discussed matters concerning the observation of the procedure for collecting, distributing, and transferring import customs duties. The videoconference session gathered representatives of the supreme financial oversight agencies of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia.

A joint audit of these matters took place in every Eurasian Economic Union member state in 2025. The audit examined how completely and on time the authorized agencies of the Eurasian Economic Union states transfer the sums of import customs duties, which are subject to distribution among the EAEU countries. The audit also checked how the norms set for every member state for distributing the import customs duties are observed.

The audit demonstrated that on the whole, the EAEU countries properly observed the procedure for collecting, distributing, and transferring import customs duties. No violations were found as a result of the joint audit in Belarus.

In 2024 revenues of the budgets of the EAEU countries from the import customs duties increased by 2% from 2023 to $15.3 billion. It is the highest figure on record since 2017. The sums of import customs duties received by the state budget of the Republic of Belarus increased by 2.7% from 2023 to $742.6 million, the press service of the State Control Committee said.
