New director names Naftan's investment project number one task

MINSK, 20 October (BelTA) - Implementation of the investment project at the Belarusian oil refinery Naftan in the shortest possible time is the number one task, Andrei Soyko, who was appointed General Director of OAO Naftan, told the media on 20 October, BelTA has learned.

The new director explained that the matter pertains the completion of the investment project to construct a delayed coking unit at Naftan. The implementation of the project will help increase the depth of oil processing up to 90% with the yield of light oil products going up to 65%, expand the production of petrol and diesel fuel, and reduce fuel oil production. Once the unit is commissioned, Naftan will fully meet the country's demand for diesel fuel (up to 3.4 million tonnes) and petrol (up to 1 million tonnes).

“We are going to complete the construction of the delayed coking unit in the shortest possible time. The deadline is the mid-2021,” Andrei Soiko stressed.

Prior to the approval for the post of the General Director at Naftan Oil Refinery Andrei Soiko was Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian State Concern for Oil and Chemistry. He told the media that after graduation from the university he worked in different positions at Belneftekhim.
