SMOLENSK, 22 May (BelTA) – A multibrand center for spare parts for Belarusian machines and vehicles will start operating in the Russian city of Smolensk by the end of 2026, BelTA learned from Ambassador of Belarus to Russia Yuri Seliverstov.

A ceremony to lay the foundation of the future center took place in Smolensk on 22 May. Governor of Smolensk Oblast Vasily Anokhin participated in it together with the Belarusian ambassador.

“It is obvious that our manufacturers of automotive components, tires, and spare parts for Belarusian machines and vehicles need to deliver them very promptly to consumers in the Russian Federation. In Smolensk alone the number of various Belarusian vehicles is very large. There are thousands of units,” Yuri Seliverstov explained the mission of the future center. “They need original spare parts to ensure these vehicles work as long as possible. And if, for instance, something needs to be replaced in agricultural machines during the harvest season, it has to be done very quickly.”

“The work is massive and is expected to take about four years. However, the first stage has to be completed by the end of the year. We think that we will already be able to hold a ceremony together with the governor to open a certain part of this center,” the ambassador specified.
