MINSK, 15 August (BelTA) – Chairman of the Russian Government Mikhail Mishustin has proposed to develop mechanisms within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) for effective price control of imported goods during an expanded-format meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, on 15 August, BelTA learned.

“We must jointly develop mechanisms to ensure effective customs control over the pricing of goods entering the union’s market from abroad. Within the EAEU, unified approaches to risk management systems should be implemented to optimize the work of regulatory authorities and reduce the burden on compliant businesses,” said Mikhail Mishustin.
He noted that the EAEU is working toward a common transportation space to fully realize the union’s potential. “It is essential that the roadmap for implementing a unified policy in this sector includes additional measures to attract qualified specialists. To improve the quality of logistics services across the union, we must make greater use of electronic document management and continue digitizing freight rail transportation – both within the EAEU and in cooperation with partners from friendly states,” Mikhail Mishustin emphasized.
