MINSK, 24 December (BelTA) - Harnessing industrial potential is the key to the sustainable development of Pukhovichi District, Belarusian Deputy Economy Minister Maria Mazhinskaya said during a visit to the district, BelTA learned from the ministry’s press service.
Maria Mazhinskaya took part in a session of the District Executive Committee, where key regional development issues were discussed: the socio-economic development forecast for 2026 and the prospects of Rudensk as a satellite city of Minsk. According to the deputy minister, Pukhovichi District is showing good results. “A skilled workforce, a strong production and resource base, and proximity to the capital are the competitive advantages that in the new five-year plan should be at the core of the strategy for the further development of its industrial sector. Of course, progress is also needed in other sectors. The region’s tourism appeal is also growing: the Dudutki museum complex has long been a landmark; it is important to implement new projects for developing cultural and event tourism,” she said.
Special attention was paid to Rudensk. “Satellite cities should become full-fledged growth points, easing the burden on the capital and ensuring balanced regional development. Active housing construction, comfortable social and transport infrastructure, and the creation of new production facilities - all this will help increase the city’s attractiveness for living and working,” emphasized Maria Mazhinskaya.
The deputy minister visited the district’s industrial sites. At the Rudensk enterprise she reviewed the results of an investment project for the development and launch of next-generation automotive lighting based on LEDs, implemented under the One District–One Project initiative. At Mashpishcheprod Maria Mazhinskaya examined how the enterprise is modernizing its production of dried potato puree. With the management of Mineral Wax Plant, current issues regarding the expansion of export geography were discussed.
