MINSK, 9 November (BelTA) – In January-September 2018 49.5 million tonnes of merchandise crossed Belarus in transit, 18% up from the same period of last year, BelTA learned from representatives of the State Customs Committee of Belarus.
The volume of transit of Russian merchandise rises every year. In January-September 2018 Belarus saw over 43 million tonnes of Russian merchandise cross the country in transit, 20% up from the same period of last year.
Belarus' transit potential grows larger all the time, partially thanks to efforts to reduce the time customs procedures require, said the source.
