MAZ seeks to increase supplies to Russia

MINSK, 8 February (BelTA) – Minsk Automobile Plant is looking for ways to ship more trucks and passenger vehicles to Russian regions, BelTA learned from the press service of the company.

This matter was discussed at a meeting hosted by Minsk Automobile Plant. It was attended by Ambassador of Belarus to Russia Vladimir Semashko, Belarus' Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Nazarov and Industry Minister Petr Parkhomchik. “The participants of the meeting discussed plans to step up deliveries of MAZ trucks and passenger vehicles to Russian regions, to scale up production by Minsk Automobile Plant and to increase the share of innovative products in the MAZ product portfolio in the Russian market,” the company noted.

The participants of the meeting also discussed the supply of the latest airport shuttle bus MAZ 271 to Russia, which will be showcased at the National Aviation Infrastructure Show 2021 in Moscow on 9- 10 February this year. “Six airport shuttle buses are already operated by Boryspil International Airport, and the interest in this model is huge, given the fact that Minsk Automobile Plant is the CIS only manufacturer of this product and this model represents the second generation of MAZ airport shuttle buses,” the press service said.

Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ trademark) is one of Belarus' largest mechanical engineering companies. It specializes in making heavy-duty trucks, special-purpose vehicles, buses, trolleybuses, and trailing units. MAZ is a well-known international brand. MAZ vehicles are compliant with the environmental standards Euro 5 and 6. The company makes a total of over 500 models and modifications of tractor units, dropside trucks, and chassis for mounting various kinds of equipment.
