KLIMOVICHI DISTRICT, 23 January (BelTA) - Which projects are planned for implementation in Klimovichi District under the One District - One Project initiative was explained by Chairman of the Klimovichi District Executive Committee Viktor Pugach during a visit by Head of the Belarus President Administration Dmitry Krutoi to the district on 23 January, BelTA has learned.
“The program approved by the presidential decree on the social and economic development of the southeastern region of Mogilev Oblast, which was in effect until 2025, is very significant for small rural districts. “Today, the pressing issues are job creation and expanding production,” he stressed.
Among the major projects is a pig fattening farm under construction in the district, being implemented as part of fulfilling the head of state’s instruction and the One District - One Project program. “With the commissioning of the pig fattening farm for 51,000 head, the construction of the pig-breeding cluster will be completed. In 2024, a breeding farm for 3,600 sows was commissioned. The fattening facility goes as a continuation. All this will allow increasing the pig population to 100,000,” Viktor Pugach said.

The district is not stopping at just this project. “We also have a project in the works to develop a production facility for dry dairy blends. The territory of the former dairy plant, which was unused, has been purchased. Currently, the investor has announced over Br25 million in investment, creating about 60 jobs,” he added. “We are also working out issues for establishing production to process distillers’ grains - the liquid waste from alcohol production. There is a liquor and vodka plant in the town, with one of its workshops located in Kostyukovichi. Approximately 250 tonnes of distillers’ grains are generated there daily. The investor has expressed a desire to process it and export the final product to the Russian Federation. This will create 25 new jobs. That means exports for the district and, accordingly, wages.”
Another investment project is a modernization of the bottling line which will take place at the liquor and vodka plant. “Currently, the equipment is fully depreciated: it now bottles 6,000 bottles per hour; the new line will handle 8,000 bottles. This will lower the unit cost, and the ultimate benefit for the district will be higher wages, tax revenue, and profits,” Viktor Pugach said.

In addition, the district plans to expand pellet production. “The investor is considering purchasing a granulation line in the Russian Federation; production will be organized using local raw materials, and the enterprise will also be export-oriented. Russia has already purchased a building as part of bringing unused facilities into economic use. This is a former school where furniture production will be established,” the chairman of the Klimovichi District Executive Committee said. “We are considering all these investment projects within the framework of the program for the development of the southeastern regions.”
