Kazakhstan to study Belarus’ expertise in electronic exchange trading

MINSK, 7 October (BelTA) – Kazakhstan will study Belarus’ experience in electronic exchange trading, the press service of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) told BelTA.

Kazakhstan is keen on studying Belarus’ experience in electronic exchange trading and is also looking to adopt Belarusian tech solutions for building its own digital infrastructure, Acting Director of the Electronic and Exchange Trade Department at Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Trade and Integration Ansar Orazaliyev said during his visit to the BUCE head office.

“Today we are tasked with establishing a so-called unified national system for monitoring exchange trade, integrated with core statistical and customs databases. We consider Belarus’ experience one of the region’s most successful examples of digitalizing trade infrastructure. Therefore, we are particularly interested in architectural solutions of your IT platform and the logic of interaction between modules, including the way the interface with government information systems is organized. We are also interested in the in-depth study of technical solutions of your trading system and in the adaptation of the best practices to Kazakhstan’s conditions. For our part, we could offer our analytical and regulatory developments in the regulation of exchange trade, andefficiency assessment of new legislative measures introduced in our country. We are convinced that close cooperation between Kazakhstan and Belarus in digitalization of exchange trade will become a vivid example of practical integration, will improve market transparency and participants’ trust, and will lay the groundwork for a unified digital trading space in the Eurasian Economic Union,” Ansar Orazaliyev said.

Head of the BUCE Foreign Economic Activity Department Yaroslav Kovalyonok reaffirmed commitment to advancing mutually beneficial strategic cooperation with Kazakhstan in terms of sharing experience and transferring technologies. He also shared up-to-date information about the volume and structure of exchange trade between the two countries in 2025.

“Kazakhstan is currently represented by 186 companies on our electronic platform, with the majority of them actively using its capabilities. For instance, in January-September 2025 the Kazakh participants concluded transactions worth nearly $31 million, 22% up from the same period in 2024. They primarily purchased Belarusian goods, namely, dry milk, butter, meat products, sugar, and timber. At the same time, imports from Kazakhstan accounted for less than 1% of the total volume of exchange transactions. In particular, the exchange was used to sell Kazakh ferrous metalproducts, industrial equipment, and cotton yarn,” Yaroslav Kovalyonok said.
