Heavy state budget spending on Belarusian agriculture in H1 2019

MINSK, 21 August (BelTA) – Support for agriculture accounted for over 40% of the state budget money spent on the Belarusian economy in H1 2019, BelTA learned from the latest report released by the Finance Ministry to describe the state of public finance.

As much as Br2.484 billion was spent on the national economy in January-June 2019. The sum accounted for 15.2% of all the budget expenses. As much as 41.2% of the budget expenses was spent on agriculture support and development.

The state budget spent Br7.69 billion on financing the social sphere (healthcare, physical training, sport, culture, mass media, education, and social policy), including Br3.259 billion spent on education and Br2.47 billion spent on healthcare.

On the whole, the consolidated budget spent Br16.349 billion in H1 2019, 9% up in nominal terms and 1.9% up in real terms from H1 2018.

In H1 2019 revenues of the consolidated budget amounted to Br18.738 billion, 3.6% up in nominal terms and 3.1% down in real terms from H1 2018. The ratio of revenues of the consolidated budget to the GDP totaled 31.1%.
