MINSK, 6 February (BelTA) – In January 2026, individuals in Belarus sold $44.9 million worth of foreign currency more than they purchased, BelTA learned from the statistics released by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).
Individuals in Belarus remain net sellers of foreign currency. In January, they sold $44.9 million more than they bought. In January 2026, individuals purchased the equivalent of $995.2 million in cash and cashless forms and sold $1.04 billion worth of foreign currency.
In January 2026 Belarusian resident companies were net purchasers of foreign currency. Based on the data of the National Bank, the commercial entities bought $57.9 million worth of currency more than they sold. In January legal entities purchased the equivalent $3.214 billion worth of foreign currency and sold $3.156 billion.
