MINSK, 2 June (BelTA) – The first certificate in logistics services has been awarded in Belarus, BelTA learnt from the press service of the State Committee for Standardization. Evrotibas Company has become the certificate holder.
“The company received confirmation from the Belarusian State Institute of Standardization and Certification that services provided by its trading and logistics center Korolev Stan in transport, warehouse and selling logistics meet the STB 2306-2013 standards,” the Committee said. The facility also received the logistics center category.
According to the Belarusian State Institute of Standardization and Certification, with the issue of the first certificate of the kind, the number of companies eager to confirm the level of the services will be increasing. The move will add a new impetus to the competitive development of the logistics services market, enhance the level of their quality and strengthen customers' confidence, the Institute believes.
Belarus offers voluntary certification of logistics services in compliance with STB 2306-2013 standards “Logistics Services. General Requirements and Certification Procedure”. The standard was introduced on 1 November 2013. The standard applies to the services provided by logistics operators, centers, transport, transport-expediting and trading organizations on the basis of introducing doing business logistics principles. The standard demands logistics services to meet the requirements of timeliness and accuracy, safety and environmental friendliness, information capacity and service ethics. Certification is conducted by the accredited bodies following the procedures and requirements set by the Belarusian national conformity assessment system. The Belarusian State Institute of Standardization and Certification is the only accredited body of the kind in Belarus.
