EEC: EAEU ranks second among regional associations in terms of depth of economic integration

MOSCOW, 3 February (BelTA) - The Eurasian Economic Union ranks second among regional associations in terms of depth of economic integration, official representative of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Iya Malkina told a briefing for the press in Moscow on 3 February, BelTA has learned.

Iya Malkina recalled that on 2 February, the Eurasian Economic Commission celebrated its 10th anniversary. "For ten years, the Commission has been working to ensure the functioning of the EAEU and develop proposals for the further development of Eurasian economic integration," she stressed.

"The main result of the Commission's work is the progressive development of the union. Today, the EAEU is the second largest association in the world in terms of the depth of economic integration. Conditions have been created for the free movement of goods, services and labor. The common financial market will be set up by 2025. Trade has been growing. So has the GDP of our countries. The preliminary assessment of the effect of integration on the economy of the EAEU and its member states conducted by the Commission shows that all the countries of the Union have benefited from it," the EEC official representative said.
