Economy Ministry comments on Belarus’ economic performance in January-October 2025

MINSK, 19 November (BelTA) - The stable performance of the economy ensures strong growth in investment and real incomes for the population, BelTA learned from the press service of the Economy Ministry of Belarus.

Belarus’ National Statistical Committee (Belstat) previously reported that GDP went up by 1.5% in January-October 2025. “Construction surged by 9.5%, information and communication  - 3.5% and transport – 2.6%. These sectors continue to lead in terms of contribution and growth  of gross value added. Over 3.2 million square meters of housing were commissioned in January-October, representing an 8% increase year-on-year. The growth in the IT sector is attributed to an increase in the number of employees and orders for domestic software. The results in the transport sector are due to a 6.6% increase in passenger traffic," the Economy Ministry noted.

A slight slowdown is being observed in production sectors: the industrial output accounted for 98.7% of last year’s.
Agricultural output accelerated by 0.9% compared to the previous period, reaching 99.9% for January-October 2025. Growth was reported by livestock production (2.4%), milk production (4.8%) and egg production (4.9%). Crop production decreased by 2%, mainly due to delayed harvesting of grain corn caused by spring frosts, along with reduced fruit and berry production.

In January-September 2025 exports of goods and services were 0.7% higher than in the same period of last year. Supplies to geographically distant countries continue to increase. Service exports are growing at a high rate (up 15.6%). The main drivers are transport and construction.
Annual inflation has slowed for the third consecutive month reaching 6.9% in October.

Capital investments continued to grow, posting a 13.2% increase in January-October. This is supported by technological renewal and modernization of enterprises: expenditures on the purchase of machinery and equipment went up by 17.3%.

The stable performance of the economy enables an accelerated growth in household incomes. In January-September 2025 they climbed up by 10.2% year-on-year, well above a forecast of 3.8%. In January-September 2025 the salary averaged Br2,630. The average pension reached about Br930.
