
MOSCOW, 8 August (BelTA) – Prime ministers of Eurasian Economic Union countries will meet in Cholpon Ata, Kyrgyzstan on 14-15 August where a session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council will take place, the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission told BelTA.
The session is expected to pass a program on promoting exchange trade on the common exchange (organized) merchandize market within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union. Participants of the session will also review an annual report of the Eurasian Economic Commission on the state of competition on transboundary markets and on the measures being taken to suppress violations of common competition rules for the year 2024 as well as reports on progress in setting up the common markets of natural gas, oil, and oil products of the Eurasian Economic Union.
The prime ministers will introduce amendments to the action plan on implementing the main guidelines and stages of implementation of the coordinated (reconciled) transport policy of the EAEU member states in 2024-2026. They will discuss progress in implementing the plan of top-priority measures for digitizing freight transportation by rail in the Eurasian Economic Union and the steps stipulated by the chapter on the digitization of transport corridors in the plan on advancing trade and economic cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Union and the People’s Republic of China.
Participants of the session are also expected to discuss matters relating to the fulfillment of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council’s instruction on implementing approaches to regulating matters of the climate agenda. They will also review a report on the advisability of aligning qualification requirements for the most popular professions on the EAEU labor market and on the procedure for confirming professional qualifications. Apart from that, discussion about concepts of development of the common markets of medications and medical products in the Eurasian Economic Union is on the agenda of the session.
