Draft Eurasian integration strategy yet to reconcile tariffs on gas transportation

MOSCOW, 21 October (BelTA) – A number of matters have yet to be addressed by the draft strategic directions of Eurasian integration for the period till 2025, including tariffs on natural gas transportation, BelTA learned from Iya Malkina, Aide to the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, at an online briefing on 21 October.

According to the source, the draft Eurasian integration strategy has yet to reconcile approaches to pricing natural gas transportation services on the common gas market of the union, the establishment of the EAEU Development Institute, and a number of other matters.

In her words, vigorous work continues on proposals on polishing the strategic directions of Eurasian integration. “Out of the 36 items we've mentioned earlier the sides have yet to come to terms on only 5 items,” the official specified.

After these matters were discussed at a recent session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Yerevan, it was decided that the Eurasian Economic Commission and the member states will have an opportunity to once again discuss the approaches suggested by initiators of proposals and make final decisions on them in the near future before reporting the results to the heads of state in December.
