GOMEL, 12 September (BelTA) – A delegation from the city of Changchun, China’s Jilin Province is visiting Gomel-based companies to explore opportunities for strengthening economic cooperation. Their first stop was the Spartak confectionery factory, BelTA has learned.
Spartak’s General Director Tatiana Lisitsina introduced the delegation to the factory’s history and production capabilities. The delegation explored the waffle production line, launched in 2015, and the candy and chocolate departments. Guests were shown the full cycle of branded sweet production at Spartak.
Spartak’s Deputy General Director for Commercial Affairs Aleksei Neverov emphasized the factory’s long-standing partnership with Chinese counterparts. “They’re reliable partners. We supply a wide range of products to China, and they’re well received across nearly all provinces,” he said, expressing readiness for open dialogue, new contacts, and long-term contracts. “This is the delegation’s first visit to our facility, a reciprocal one. During a previous trip to China as part of the Gomel Oblast delegation, our general director invited potential partners to see our production firsthand,” he added.
Director General of a Chinese packaging company Li Huizhi also emphasized the importance of strengthening Belarus-China cooperation. It is possible that the portfolio of existing agreements and contracts will soon include a new partnership with Spartak.
General Manager of Guangzhou Yunbaoda Trading Co. Yu Haiyun noted that the interest in expanding cooperation is mutual. “Overall, we’ve already identified areas of synergy where we can deepen cooperation: in agriculture, manufacturing industry, and wood processing, particularly in cellulose production. We’ve received proposals on various areas, and we’ll discuss them in detail with the regional leadership,” he said.
Spartak is one of Belarus’ largest producers of confectionery and proprietary semi-finished goods. It offers around 350 product names, including items with therapeutic and preventive properties. Its core product lines include caramel, candies, chocolate and chocolate-based goods, cookies, wafers, cakes, and pastries.
