Chisinau to host first Belarus-Moldova youth forum

MINSK, 19 November (BelTA) – The first Belarus-Moldova youth forum will take place in Chisinau on 20-23 November, BelTA learned from Second Secretary of the Central Committee of the BRSM Youth Union Oleg Dikun.

“Interaction between youth organizations of Belarus and Moldova got a new lease of life. A number of cooperation agreements have been signed. For the last two years student teams have been working at Moldovan agricultural enterprises. The first youth forum will be another concrete step to intensify further contacts, develop joint programs and a platform for interaction and dialogue,” said Oleg Dikun.

The forum will bring together representatives of student teams, businesses, educational institutions of the two countries. “The Belarusian delegation will be represented by 20 people. The program of the forum will feature panel discussions on problems and opportunities for young people in the modern world, VS university program on labor realities, development opportunities for young entrepreneurs, and a round table on the role of youth in the modern world.

Visits are planned to the Parliament of Moldova and the President's residence. The forum will conclude with the signing of agreements aimed at further development of the mobile student team movement and an environmental campaign to plant trees in a park near the Belarusian embassy in Moldova. The official opening of the youth forum will take place on 21 November.

The forum is organized by the Youth League of Moldova, the BRSM Youth Union, the Belarusian Embassy in Moldova, the Embassy of Moldova in Belarus, the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova ASEM. The event is aimed at establishing joint partnership relations in such strategic areas as employment of young people at the enterprises of Moldova as part of student teams, implementation of social and humanitarian projects, and development of bilateral youth entrepreneurship.
