Belorusneft completes upgrade of gas pipeline section

GOMEL, 20 April (BelTA) – Belorusneft has completed the renovation of the gas pipeline connecting the Ostashkovichi oil field and the Belarusian Gas Processing Plant (BGPZ), BelTA learned from the enterprise.

The Ostashkovichi-BGPZ gas pipeline was commissioned after renovation that began in 2017. The project was carried out by Neftespetsstroy. The expired gas pipeline built in 1976 was dismantled and a new one was laid.

The new technology implemented at the pipeline completely excludes the possibility of a fire under normal technological conditions, the company said. The pipeline will supply approximately 230,000-260,000 cubic meters of associated petroleum gas per day from the second and third oil fields of the Belorusneft company.

The Ostashkovichi-BGPZ gas pipeline is located in Svetlogorsk District and Rechitsa District. Its maximum capacity is 300,000 cubic meters per day, its working pressure is 0.45 MPa. It operates round-the-clock, all the year round. The length of the gas pipeline is 32,444 m, the pipe diameter is 720 mm. Neftespetsstroy performed welding of pipes of such a large diameter for the first time.

The Belarusian industrial group Belorusneft was founded in 1966. The company specializes in exploration, prospecting, and development of oil fields, well drilling, extraction of oil and associated petroleum gas. Belorusneft also offers oil industry services in other countries.
