MINSK, 12 September (BelTA) – The Minsk Office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia’s Smolensk Oblast signed a cooperation agreement at the Minsk International Forum on Economic Cooperation timed to the celebration of Minsk’s 958th anniversary, BelTA has learned.
As Director General of the Minsk Office of the BelCCI Sergei Nabeshko told journalists, the document includes three areas of interaction. The first one is the organization of negotiations, business meetings, and the search for counterparties for enterprises. The parties will also conduct mutual consultations. The Union State of Belarus and Russia is developing unified regulations that will grant Belarusian products the same status as Russian goods. “The experience of regional chambers is important to us because they subsequently confirm the documents issued by our experts,” Sergei Nabeshko explained.
The third area is strategic joint activity in external markets.
“Our closest regional neighbors will help us enter the Russian market faster. The Smolensk Oblast Chamber of Commerce and Industry unites the same wide range of companies as we do. We work across the entire product line. First of all, we are interested in auto components, mechanical engineering, and everything related to industrial production,” he noted.
He described the Minsk International Economic Cooperation Forum as a prestigious platform for active partners to exchange opinions and define promising areas of cooperation. “This confirms that the capital is an active business center with great opportunities,” Sergei Nabeshko added.
The forum is organized by the Minsk City Executive Committee and the Minsk Office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It is attended by representatives of 27 countries and 15 regions of Russia. The theme of the plenary session is the city’s potential in economy, tourism and healthcare.
