BelAZ celebrates 1500th 220t haul truck delivery milestone

MINSK, 16 August (BelTA) – The 1,500th BelAZ 7530 haul truck with the carrying capacity of 220 tonnes rolled off the assembly line, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian automobile engineering company BelAZ.

The vehicle will soon be shipped to the open-pit mine Berezovsky which is part of the enterprise group ZAO Stroyservis, one of the leading mining companies in Russia's Kuzbass. The press service noted that 220-tonne haul trucks enjoy steady demand in the global market. BelAZ haul trucks have already proved their worth in Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Serbia, China, the Republic of South Africa, and other countries.

The 220-tonne haul trucks accounted for 25% of the total shipments in January-June 2019. They are designed to transport overburden rock, mineral resources in open-pit mines and loose materials off public roads and to operate in severe mining conditions. BelAZ 7530 has various modifications and configurations, which helps reduce maintenance costs and improve transportation efficiency.

The electric drive of BelAZ haul trucks enables them to climb up and down steep slopes and provides for smooth gear shift which improves maneuverability. BelAZ haul trucks with a large carrying capacity are equipped with a passive safety mechanism which ensures stability and safety of vehicles in an emergency situation. The driver's cabin is fitted with digital devices and an air conditioning system.
