Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange's import substitution platform updated

MINSK, 30 September (BelTA) – The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange has commissioned a new version of the digital platform for selling industrial and consumer goods. The digital platform was used to implement an import substitution service, BelTA has learned.

The platform's design has been updated, the user interface is now more convenient and boasts more functionality. All the key peculiarities have been preserved. They make the BUCE's platform stand out from the crowd of B2B solutions: access to the trade system using a digital signature or a username/password combination, 24/7 uptime, support for all the popular web browsers, automatic notifications, and smart search across a digital directory of goods. The platform operates in full compliance with the government procurement legislation. It will encourage broader adoption of the exchange trade platform by state-run enterprises and the private sector.

In the four months since the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange launched its import substitution platform the platform facilitated over 9,000 deals worth Br64.5 million. So far this year the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange has helped sell Br449.4 million worth of industrial and consumer goods, 17.4% up from the same period of last year.

The public joint-stock company (OAO) Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange was established in 2004. The first trade sessions took place in June 2005. BUCE is one of the largest mercantile exchanges in Eastern Europe. Its key function is to assist Belarusian companies with exporting their products and assist foreign companies with entering the Belarusian market. The commodity exchange facilitates trade in metals, timber, agricultural products, and a broad choice of industrial and consumer goods.
