Belarusian Railways to present transit potential in Moscow

MINSK, 10 December (BelTA) – A roundtable session focused on the transit potential of Belarus in enabling the transportation of Russian imports and exports will take place in Moscow on 12 December, the Belarusian Railways press service told BelTA.

It is a traditional event focused on bringing more freight traffic in communication between Belarus and Russia. Belarusian Railways' tariff policy for the next year will be presented. Capabilities of the Belarusian Railways company Belintertrans – Transport-Logistics Center will be presented.

Belarusian Railways Head Vladimir Morozov, representatives of the Embassy of Belarus in Russia, heads and representatives of Russian Railways branches, the united transport and logistics company Eurasian Rail Alliance (UTLC ERA), Russian consignors will take part in the roundtable session.

In January-September 2018 freight transportation between Belarus and Russia totaled 58.3 million tonnes, 113.7% as against the same period of last year. Transit totaled 36.5 million tonnes (126.1% as against January-October 2017), with outgoing traffic at 11.7 million tonnes (84%) and incoming traffic at 10 million tonnes (120.6%).
