MINSK, 14 February (BelTA) - Belarus is considering the possibility of implementing new investment projects in microelectronics, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich told BelTA.
Technologies are constantly evolving, and so the demand for microelectronics products is growing, he stressed. "Therefore, it is essential for us to manufacture up-to-date products that meet the increasing demand. The Belarusian products are quite competitive in terms of quality and price. They meet international requirements,” Viktor Karankevich noted.
Viktor Karankevich recalled that the country is implementing the microelectronics industry development program up to 2030, which includes seven investment projects. One of them has already been implemented.
"We need to optimize the timing and funds spending and to launch the series production of all new products designed as a result of all investment projects," he stated. "We have another five investment projects in the pipeline, which we plan to implement by 2030. We need to keep up with the trends and to implement the projects that will result in the products in demand both in Belarus and in other countries."
