Belarusian MAZ, Algerian company launch first stage of joint bus assembly project

MINSK, 2 December (BelTA) – A partnership agreement between Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ) and the Algerian company SFVUI, signed during the Belarus-Algeria business forum, marks the launching of the first stage of a project to assemble MAZ buses in Algeria, BelTA learned from MAZ, the managing company of the holding company BelavtoMAZ.

MAZ Director General Valery Ivankovich took part in the Belarus-Algeria business forum, co‑chaired by Algeria’s Domestic Trade and National Market Regulation Minister Amal Abdel Latif and Belarusian Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Minister Artur Karpovich.
During the forum, Valery Ivankovich presented MAZ capabilities, emphasizing the enterprise’s strong potential in supplying passenger, cargo, and specialized vehicles to the Algerian market.
“Following the business forum, a partnership agreement was signed between Minsk Automobile Plant and the Algerian company SFVUI. The document marks the beginning of the project to assemble MAZ buses in Algeria,” the company noted.
