Belarusian foreign minister emphasizes importance of long-term export planning system

MINSK, 31 July (BelTA) – A system for planning deliveries in the long term is important for increasing the volume of export. Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov made the relevant statement as Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko hosted a conference with heads of diplomatic missions and consular institutions of the Republic of Belarus in the Palace of Independence on 31 July, BelTA has learned.

Speaking about remote markets, Maxim Ryzhenkov pointed out: “Our enterprises mainly work like this: if prices rise and a specific product is in short supply, then deliveries are organized. If the situation changes, they withdraw from the market. In other words, it is necessary to always stay in some places, it is necessary to be present because our partners in these countries may not allow you to enter the market for the second time.”

This is why Maxim Ryzhenkov formulated the problem of the absence of a system for the long-term planning of deliveries – not for one year but for five years – both at the level of enterprises and industry-specific administration bodies.

“This is why approaches to planning export operations have changed radically. A program on the government’s work in 2025-2029 has been worked out. In line with this program we are working out two-year roadmaps for increasing and diversifying export to individual countries and to regions of Russia. We are working out industry-specific export strategies for 2026-2029 for the medium term,” the Belarusian minister of foreign affairs noted.

The minister explained that these program documents include performance indicators focusing on export to individual countries in terms of cost and in natural terms. In other words, they are the goals that need to be reached. Performance indicators have been formulated by the diplomatic missions abroad taking into account the analysis and forecast of the development of markets and the interest of foreign partners.

“As of today 17 country-specific roadmaps for 2026-2027 have been approved by assigned officials. The rest are being agreed,” Maxim Ryzhenkov concluded.
