MINSK, 3 January (BelTA) – The government has passed measures on field work preparations, forage procurement, and harvesting operations in 2019, BelTA has learned.
In line with the document Belarusian agricultural enterprises are supposed to prepare at least 95% of their agricultural machines for spring field work by 25 March. The machines have to be ready for hay harvesting by 15 May, for harvesting cereal and leguminous crops, initial grain processing and storage – by 10 July. The document also mentions the acquisition of flax cultivation and harvesting machines.
The oblast administrations are instructed to make sure their subordinate enterprises pay for mineral fertilizers, crop protection agents, fuel, and seeds in a timely manner.
A number of agricultural enterprises selected by the oblast administrations will get subsidies to pay some of the interest rate on the loans Belarusian banks will grant in 2019 to finance field work. The subsidies will be disbursed by the central state budget every month in 2019-2020.
